2007 certification allows organizations to ensure and demonstrate they follow international guidelines and standards on how to best produce, control, store and ship cosmetic products. ISO 22716:2007 Management System Certification is a set of guidelines intended to provide guidance regarding Good Manufacturing Practices for cosmetic products. These guidelines have been prepared for consideration by the cosmetic industry and take into account the specific needs of this sector.

ISO 22716 offers organizational and practical advice on management of human, technical and administrative factors affecting product quality. The standards have been written to allow them to be used following flow of products from receipt to shipment.

 

Good Manufacturing Practices constitute the practical development of quality assurance concept through description of plant activities that are based on sound scientific judgement and risk assessments. Objective of these GMP guidelines is to define activities that enable manufacturers to obtain a product fulfilling defined characteristics. Core elements of ISO 22716 can be thought of as being composed of five core elements:

  • Premises and equipment
